Emily Haines and my crappy pictures
I was at the "Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton" concert on the 22nd. This was part of Emily's tour for her first solo album "Knives Don't Have Your Back", which is her first solo album since her rise with Metric and Broken Social Scene. Her older solo album (1996/1997) "Cut In Half and Also Double" is a rare collector's item now. It sells for hundreds of dollars on e-bay. I would love to get my hands on that.
Anyhoo, this new album is awesome! All the songs have a kinda dark and haunting touch to them. I like them all! I would highly recommend "Knives Don't Have Your Back". All songs in the album are driven primarily by the piano and amazing vocals of Emily Haines. This album not only highlights Emily's amazing vocals, but also her fascinating song writing skills. She captures you in a peculiarly unexpected way.
You can listen to her single "Doctor Blind" here http://www.myspace.com/emilyhaines
You can see my extremely crappy pictures from the show (I didn't have the right lens nor the right film... That's my excuse and I am sticking to it)

The plural of Y'all is "all y'all"
"Y'all is typically used only in informal situations, and is frowned upon in (and even excluded from) formal speech and writing. It is sometimes used as a dual pronoun to refer to only two people, with a related form "all y'all" used for plural contexts. The possessive form of y'all is y'all's (e.g. "I really like y'all's house."), and the possessive form of all y'all is all y'all's. While y'all has begun to spread to general US English, all y'all and y'all's have not; y'all and your are used, respectively. In most areas of the South however, "all y'all" is never heard but simply "y'all" for two, ten, or ten thousand people."

I am *so* amused.

The first album
So as I eat my honey nut cherios this Sunday afternoon ... I put on Norah Jones' "Come away with me" CD, not to be confused with "feels like home". I must say, it is absolutely beautiful. Every song in it just tingles my socks. Absolutely Brilliant !!
One of the best CDs to listen to when you wake up late and are eating cereal and reading the news.
